Headline act for The Freshman Tour 2016 Auckland, Jehene Aiko, played to a reduced audience after many fans left the Logan Campbell Hall after enjoying rising rapper G-Eazy’s set.

Fans of artists David Dallas, G-Eazy and Jhene Aiko were served up an evening of music and excitement held at the Logan Campbell Centre. Mai FM’s very own DJ Sirvere opened the night with an energetic set to ready the crowd.

New Zealand rapper David Dallas killed the scene with his opening. His music traversed the audience with a wave of nostalgia and amped the capacity crowd for the main act of the evening.

But the star turn was rising rapper G-Eazy, performing for his second time in New Zealand. G-Eazy toured the country to promote his new album When It’s Dark Out and to connect with more fans from around the world.

After much anticipation G-Eazy jumped on stage with his banger and opening song of the album Random. Fans cheered tirelessly throughout the night and sang along to their favourites.

The arena was packed with energy.

“You guys go hard here in New Zealand! I have never seen a crowd like this before,” G-Eazy said while on stage.

If you were in the mosh pit then you probably had a rough night; but for fans  standing further away or  seated in the stands it was definitely a night to remember.

G-Eazy delivered beyond the crowd’s expectations and left audiences satisfied.

Despite singer Jhene Aiko being the head liner and main act of The Freshman Tour most of the audience left the Logan Campbell Centre early.

G-Eazy’s performance tired out audiences and did not lead up to Jhene Aiko’s more relaxed music.

Fans of Jhene Aiko would have enjoyed the show regardless and over all the night was a success.
