The home crowd had plenty to cheer about in the Chiefs’ win at Waikato Stadium last night.

Chiefs coach Dave Rennie is looking for further improvement from his side after their win over the Stormers at Waikato Stadium last night.

Rennie said the Chiefs missed some opportunities during the match.

“We can certainly do better,” he said.

The game opened with both the Chiefs and Stormers trading penalty goals, but the Chiefs made good inroads early to settle comfortably into the game.

Errors entered the game early in the first half with the ball being dropped  in the opposition’s half, and continued into the second half.

The Chiefs had a hard time turning pressure into points but co-captain Aaron Cruden said there was some improvement in attack over the past two games. “We have something to build on.”

The table-topping Chiefs now head overseas for three weeks with matches in Perth and South Africa.

Their next home game is Saturday April 12 when they play the Melbourne Rebels, and will be aiming to keep the goal of winning a Super Rugby three-peat alive.
