A cyclist was taken to hospital after being hit by a car while crossing Galloway Street in Hamilton on Thursday. Eye-witnesses said a cyclist crossing the road was in a collision with a vehicle coming down the road. Police, ambulances, and locals joined forces to cordon off a portion of the road around the cyclist and her bicycle. Onlooker Kevin Wikitera said the driver of the vehicle “wasn’t going that fast. Police, ambulances, and local civilians joined forces to cordon off a portion of the road around the cyclist and her bicycle. SPAY57 said, “I'm not too sure what the reason [for the accident] is – we have yet to speak to them properly.” Onlooker Kevin Wikitera said, “She was coming down the street, and tried to cut through traffic. Then the car came down the centre, I think, and hit her. The driver of the vehicle “wasn't going that fast”, said Wikitera. “He didn't see her, she didn't see him ...
