Cyclist injured in collision with car

A cyclist was taken to hospital after a collision with a car in Galloway Street on Thursday.

A cyclist was taken to hospital after being hit by a car while crossing Galloway Street this afternoon. “Basically, a cyclist crossing the road was hit by a vehicle coming down the road,” Police****SPAY57 (how do QIDs work?)**** said. Police, ambulances, and local civilians joined forces to cordon off a portion of the road around the cyclist and her bicycle. SPAY57 said, “I'm not too sure what the reason [for the accident] is – we have yet to speak to them properly.” Onlooker Kevin Wikitera said, “She was coming down the street, and tried to cut through traffic. Then the car came down the centre, I think, and hit her. The driver of the vehicle “wasn't going that fast”, said Wikitera. “He didn't see her, she didn't see him ... It was just bad timing.” SPAY57 said the woman's condition is not critical. “She's going to be okay.”
