Italian stall wins tasty treats for their plant nutrition exhibit

Italian-based company Valagro’s Pacific won Best International Exhibition Area, and they are a first-time exhibitor.

A classy, Italian-designed stall earned a global biostimulant company some beverages and nibbles to celebrate with at the end of Fieldays.

Taking out the Best International Exhibition Area site was a great success for Italian-based company Valagro’s Pacific division, all the more so as it is a first-time exhibitor.

White is the overwhelming colour at the stall – designed at the company’s Italian headquarters – with digital-printed walls explaining how the plant stimulant products work, and evenly-spaced display stands.

Velagro’s natural products improve plant growth, using nature to help nature, and it has just moved into the New Zealand market with its Pacific branch.

Area manager Shakil Saiyed cheekily suggested that he might use the wine, chocolates, snacks, and beverages which were part of the prize to celebrate four successful days at the agricultural show.

But his counterpart Tim Jerram said he would have to pass – the pair are staying in Rotorua, and he will be the one driving back.

The pair got a pleasant surprise when Fieldays representatives dropped past their stall on Thursday to let them know they had been nominated, and invited them to the on-site award ceremony at the bar at Black Dog.

And two of the Italian big bosses who made the trip over for Fieldays did not hold back in showing their enthusiasm when Velagro Pacific was named the winner.

So what made their stall stand out?

“I think it’s quite clean, it’s uncluttered,” said Jerram.

Saiyed thought backing up their product with the displayed explanation of the technology behind it was a point of difference.

Their first Fieldays experience was extremely positive, with plenty of interest at the stall.

“We’re definitely quite keen to be here for years to come,” said Saiyed.
