Good George makes Fieldays debut

The alcohol is pouring in the Lifestyle Marquee, with some breaking into the Fieldays market and others celebrating several years of success.

The Waikato’s only operating craft beer brewery made its Fieldays debut this year.

After opening last September, Hamilton’s Good George is set up in the Lifestyle Marquee to promote its apple-based cider alongside white and sparkling ales.

Sales and marketing manager Ash Green says as the demand for craft beer increases they are trying to get their brand out there.

“Everyone seems to be really enjoying the beer,” she said.

The stall is selling beer growlers that can be filled up at Good George in Frankton.

Good George beers are available in selected outlets regional wide.

To add to the alcohol buzz, Villa Italia’s Limoncello is set up for its fourth year at Fieldays, with one of the marquee’s largest stalls.

Director Andrea Loggia is originally from Italy and is now living in Kerikeri. His family  has produced traditional Italian liqueurs for generations, but all Villa Italia products  are produced in New Zealand.

On sale is the international award winning Limoncello Cream, which the company’s  website says is “one of the specialities of Sicilian cuisine.”

Loggia says the customer base has increased year after year and has a message for his drink lovers.

“Just enjoy the Limoncello, don’t drink too much,” he said.
