Hamilton band The Latest Fallout are looking to the middle of this year when they will release their first album.

The band have been making trips to a mate’s place in New Plymouth to record the songs for their debut album, the most recent on Easter weekend.

“We don’t have an exact date but we’re thinking mid-July,” lead guitarist Jared Stevenson said.

The four-member band was on their way to Dunedin to play at Samstock Festival at the end of last year when they signed with Wellington-based label Southern Collective.

Inspiration for the song writing has come from “all sorts, but mainly from life experiences,” Stevenson said.  “Hearing all the pieces come together is very rewarding.”

The band has been together for over a year now, and has had many exciting opportunities and experiences so far.

“Everything in this band is a highlight, but the most important for 2013 has been playing at the Parachute Festival, and the Hamilton Gardens Festival alongside Avalanche City, Stevenson said.
