Documentary screening celebrates Outward Bound’s 50th anniversary

Past and future participants in Outward Bound have been invited to a special documentary screening in Hamilton.

As part of nationwide celebrations to celebrate their 50th anniversary, Outward Bound will host a special screening of their documentary in Hamilton next week.

“Inside Outward Bound, The New Zealand Journey” is a 45-minute look at the organisation through the eyes of past and present students.

Event organiser and former Outward Bound participant, Ginny Semmens said the event is for both past participants and those who want to sign up.

“The event is about celebrating the fact that Outward Bound has been helping kiwis unlock their true potential through outdoor challenge and adventure for 50 years,” says Ms Semmens.

Outward Bound’s motto is to help create better people, better communities, and a better world.

“The upcoming Waikato event is about bringing that community together to remind those who have been on Outward Bound just how valuable their experience was.

“It is also about inspiring people to either go on a course or simply support others in our community to take up the challenge,” says Ms Semmens.

Outward Bound school director Rob Mclean and past participant Alice Balme are guest speakers at the event.

The documentary film will be screened in CG.17, located near the Gallagher Hub and guests are welcome to use the Wintec parking building from 4.30pm on Tuesday August 28.

Tickets are $30 and can be purchased from Ticketek.
