Digitally savvy speaker gives advice

Hayden Sanders works with everyone from small local businesses to large corporates to polish their digital communication

Digital guru Hayden Sanders discussed online strategies at the Hub yesterday.

Hayden attended Spark to give back what people gave him – invaluable mentoring advice.

He has been involved with the internet for eight years, at first occupied with designing the web content for his band – Straight Ahead.

“My first passion was music; I used to play bass for my band and then started learning about the internet.”

Sanders said that communication on the internet is all about having a two-way conversation.

“The problem facing most business when trying to go online is they start talking straight away and do not do enough listening,” he said.

Hayden has worked with a range of government and corporate bodies.

“My favourite project was working with the NZRFU because of the amount of content I got to work with.”

The internet has changed a lot since Hayden started using it to go on to sites such as ICQ – an old social networking site.

“My first experience online was using my parent dial-up to find cheats for a computer game – Sam and Max.”
