Big loser encourages others

Jenna Paki has turned her back on chocolate…

Slim gym bunny Jenna Marie Paki is a shadow of the woman she used to be.

Diet and exercise really does work, says Hamilton-based Jenna, 23, who has lost 24kgs in less than a year.

Jenna had been fit in high school and played in all the Waikato netball teams before landing a desk job with a large corporation.

“The café at work was pretty hard to turn down sometimes.”

Jenna joined the gym, got a personal trainer once a week, and has not looked back.

“A huge part of losing weight is believing you can do it and realizing it’s not going to happen overnight.  It’s supposed to take 21 days before it becomes a habit and part of your lifestyle.

“Hard work pays off.”

Admitting chocolate, lollies and takeaways made up her diet once; Jenna said it was really hard to stop bad habits.

“Nutrition was the biggest thing. Eating the right foods and not going out to party every weekend.

“I always tell myself don’t starve, don’t binge, eat right and exercise and you will get there.”

Kim Kardashian is a physical inspiration.

“Kim is not too big and is not too skinny. Strong is the new sexy these days.”
