Waikato fans snap up Conchords tickets

Dozens of fans queued outside Founders Theatre this morning as tickets for the Flight of the Conchords June show went on sale.

This morning was business time for Hamilton fans of Flight of the Conchords.

By 6am there were already dozens of hopefuls queuing outside Founders Theatre as tickets for the duo’s New Zealand tour went on sale.

Hamilton’s Luke Hollows was in the queue bright and early.

He said he had missed out on seeing the duo before and was not going to miss out on this tour.

“I know all the songs and most of the lyrics so I will be silently singing along on the night.”

Stacey Wouters, an Edge Roadrunner, also arrived early.

“There were about 30 people queuing outside Founders Theatre when we got here at around 6ish this morning and apparently people had been queuing since midnight for these tickets,” she said.

The show’s promoters wanted to combat scalping by selling tickets to people in person.

“We really want to get tickets in local people’s hands at face value,” said co-promoter Brent Eccles.
