The Fieldays have always had a police presence and this year it is no different with the inclusion of husband and wife duo, Bill and Karen Eivers.

This is the first time that the Eivers have attended the Fieldays after moving to the Waikato last September.

The Eivers have been riding all their lives, and usually spend their time away from the station trekking on their two horses.

“Bill is the sole officer in charge at the Benneydale Police Station and I am a highway patrol officer based in Te Rapa” says Karen.

This is the first time the couple have attended an event in the Waikato district as mounted police but are hoping to be able to come back next year.
