Fieldays has stepped up its coverage in the equine sector this year with events running in the EquiDays Arena.

The area is the first of its kind, promoting the full EquiDays event that is scheduled to run at Mystery Creek later this year.

The arena is showcasing a host of equine skills such as horse cutting, the age-old cowboy skill of controlling a herd and then selecting a beast from the herd by using the agility and skill of the horse.

Other events in the arena include sidesaddle demonstrations by the New Zealand Side Saddle Association and the Horse Handling heat for the Rural Bachelor of the Year competition.

EquiDays, run by the National Fieldays Society, will be held at Mystery Creek in November and will run demonstrations, competitions, stalls and set up clinics.
